I’m all about YOU being a happy teacher.
The last thing a happy teacher wants is:
- A Mad Parent
- A Mad Principal
(Here’s a little vid I made about Parent Communication)
How do you avoid 1 and 2? Simple.
Any time I communicate with a parent via:
- note sent home
- or conference
I keep a very detailed PARENT CONTACT LOG!

- I love it because my brain doesn’t have to remember EVERY LAST conversation and how I need to follow up.
- Parents love it because their child’s teacher is professional, organized, and CARES about the importance of what they say.
- AND PRINCIPALS LOVE IT! If a parent storms their office, the principal has a file of logs that you’ve provided to reference about what is going on.
Happy Teachers need a system for documenting Parent Communication.
I want to hear from YOU:
- Do you have a system for keeping track of parent communication? Do you have any nightmare parent communication stories?
